This is a post from my google blog.
I just received an email telling me I was admitted into my first choice Freshman Seminar. It is a very interesting class taught by a renowned professor of ethics, Shelley Kagen (picture shown)! When I was visiting during Bulldog Days (the admit weekend) I sat in on his class called Death. It was absolutely amazing!
I think, given my history, that I will be able to bring a unique perspective to the class. There are also some amazingly interesting topics to be discussed. Here's a description:

Most of us stumble through life without asking what is really worth having. This course examines the various possible elements of a good life, and asks which truly have value and why. What should I look for in choosing a career? What is the significance of my decision whether to have children? Why is love so important? What is the value of education? How important is accomplishment? Socrates said the unexamined life is not worth living. Let's examine. Enrollment limited to freshmen.
I am so excited to know at least one of the classes I will be taking next year!

Boo- I am so glad that you will be in this seminar. Do you remember how Fiero wanted to dance through life and live the UNEXAMINED existence? This will be just the opposite and you will value everything that God has given to you even more than you already do. I am already missing you, but seeing opportunities like this shows me that you are in the right place at the right time. I love you SOO MUCH!! Love, Mom
